Scrapping and Quilting

Today Erica is quilting and I am scrapping. It's sooo cold out side. Brrrrr! So, we are staying in with the kit kit's and just getting things finished before Christmas. It was a super fun busy week with Mom and Dad in town and then having to drive to Ft. Edward for BOCES. I can't believe that the holidays are almost here...WoW!!

a Winter Wonderland

Today Erica and I took a drive to Saratoga Springs and Shuylerville. I wanted to drop off my resume at the elementary school there.

Well, on the way we took so many photos because it looked like a fairy wonderland. Everywhere the trees were frosted with white, glittery snow. It was so beautiful. About 1/2 way back, Erica said, "oh, that would be a gorgeous photo!" So, I turned the car around and we drove back to this little frozen stream with trees gracefully arching overhead. Erica took a bunch of photos and WoW am I glad we turned around!!

Disney Albums

Colin and Catherine are in Disney tonight. Im so excited for them and hoping that they are having a good time!! Before they left I gave them these little autograph albums that I made. Inside are pages for the different characters to sign, as the children meet them. I did all the "Mickey" characters and all the "Princesses" with a few pages extra for any other characters they might run into!!

a visit

i just talked to mom and dad. they are coming to visit for a couple of days. i cannot believe we havent seen them in almost 2 weeks. ~~**crazy**~~ i can't wait for them to pack up their house and move. we need to be closer.
ive been working on colin and catherine's disney autograph albums. they turned out so cute. i really think that they will love them. and i am hoping that they get alot of signatures next week from the characters at disney.
i love the mickey and friends cartridge. the cuts are so cute!
well, off to tidy up a bit and to put on some stew for when the parents arrive!!

Halloween

Today is Halloween and every year the Aunties (my sis, Erica and I) get the kids costumes. This year I made Colin's costume, he wanted to be a skeleton. It was really fun and easy to make. I downloaded a pattern from the internet, cut it out and pinned it to a black sweat suit I bought at Walmart. Then I stitched it on to white felt with the sewing machine. Erica had to hand stitch the small bones near the cuffs b/c I couldn't get to those with the machine.


The leg bones were a little low b/c Colin is so slim that the sweat suit was to big around the waist and it hung to low. (He still looked adorable!!)

A Birthday

Last Saturday was mom's birthday, so we had a nice dinner and some cake. It was our first celebration in our new home.

Our Move

Well the big move is over. It was hellish to say the least. We are just beginning to get over the trauma of it all. I still have a few boxes to unpack and I haven't been to the storage unit yet to see it. Im a little afraid to see how it is all packed in. Im missing one box and hoping that it's at the unit. Hopefully next week I'll get up enough courage to go and find it.

Today was very tiring but good. We got a ton of stuff done. My scrap room is 95% packed, Gary the junk guy carted a couple of loads of junk away, I sold the pet carrier on Craig's list and Chris lifted some very heavy stuff for us. Also a friend came and took some of the preschool items. Im glad they are going to someone we know. Im still feeling very overwhelmed and nervous but things are really moving along as they should. I know that in a couple of weeks we will be settled for the most part and feeling better about the move. After all we haven't moved in 15 years and we had considerably less stuff!! It was a good day.

It's been so nice "puppy sitting" Prancer. She is such a sweet pup!! We've had some good bonding time but she misses her daddy. Only a few more nights then mom and dad will be home. They are having such a good time in Virginia. More packing tomorrow!!!

today jordyn ashley and her mom came to visit us. it was so nice to see her. she was a tiny bit shy at first but then warmed up to her old self in no time. she is such a sweetie, we miss seeing her every day. we realized that it's been about 4 years since jordyn came to honey bear for the summer. it seems like just yesterday but time really files. she is as tall as me. unbelievable!!

more packing tomorrow. we've got a huge chunk of the cellar packed. i have to pack all my teacher stuff tomorrow. by friday we want the cellar to be done!!! we can do it! :)

a brand new look

I found this lady who lives in Utah who makes templates for blogs. Her templates are amazing. I love this one, the colors are perfect for falltime.
Ok, I promised myself to go to sleep early tonight...whoops, that didn't work out. I'm definatly going to try to go to sleep earlier tomorrow night.

how excited am i? super excited. i cant wait to go and pick up my two layouts and then hang my new ribbons on my wall with the other ones. the other gold (hm) and pink (4th) ones!



btw...the fair was awesome this year, of course. it always is. we had a spectacular time. we did some very different things at the fair than usual. we walked down to the indian village and watched the dancing. we went to the 4h bldg. we've never done that. we also watched a horse show at the colosseum. that was alot of fun. there is never enough time to do everything...unless you go back two or three times!

i saw rick springfield at the fair in 1985. erica and some friends waiting in line all night to get the tickets. he was at the fair tonight, i would have loved to have gone but i wasnt able.
to much to say, it's late and tomorrow we are going to the fair!! im very excited. ive been looking forward to the fair since last year. it's all mapped out and im off to sleep.

today we had a visit from two of our former honey bears. it was so nice to see them both. they have both grown into sweet, caring, young ladies. it is so strange how time seems to fly by faster when you do not see "friends" very often. if i haven't seen someone in 3 or more years, when i do get the chance to see them it strikes me harder that the time has gone by. sorry, don't mean to babble, just in a pensive mood i guess. :-

well, i'm still stunned. after 5 years in a row, the 6th is a charm. i finally won a blue ribbon at the nys fair! and a 2nd place ribbon too!! happy day!!

just had a lovely visit with megan. she was one of our very first honey bear students. tomorrow she is off to st lawrence university.

i just finished my layouts for the fair. it always takes me much longer to complete fair layouts than any others. {{{the pressure}}} ha ha!!

well, i got my "a child's year" cricut cartridge 5 days ago and i've gone a little crazy with it. i am in love. it is the most exciting cartridge since "paper doll dressup"!! there is so much on it and as you can see, it doesn't have to be for children only (hansel and gretel). i can't wait to use if for my state fair entry, ive been planning that out a bit! it is my next big project.
well, im off to mom and dads to spend the night with prancer!!

i'm puppy sitting tonight and tomorrow night. so, i'm away from my cricut and all my scrapping gear... :( ,but it is nice to spend time with the little peach. she is such a sweetie.
i just had the most lovely couple of days spending time with colin. we spent sunday at nonni and papa's house. then on monday we spent the day together at my house with auntie erica. we played and listened to music. we read books and had a wonderful time, it was to short! then i made dinner and we invited nonni and papa over. we had sloppy colins (aka: sloppy joes), salad and ice cream for dessert. it was colin's idea and it was a fun time had by all!<3
